People ask why we spell it with an O. It's on purpose.

Money is a tool, and “capital” is just another word for it. Nobody names a firm after a hammer. We wanted a name that stood for people and the best ideas, so we picked the other spelling.

A capitol is where those come together. The Capitol in Rome was the hill where the best minds of the day gathered to make the decisions that mattered. Every capitol was built on the same idea: one central place where the decisions get made.

That's what we set out to build. One place where the best ideas, the best strategies, and the best people are already assembled, so you don't have to go find them yourself.

“Family Office” is the standard we hold ourselves to. For nearly 150 years, the wealthiest families in the country have had a private office that handles everything for them: investments, taxes, planning, all talking to each other. Our mission is to give you the same thing.

So that's the name. A capitol with an O, one central place where the decisions get made by people who work for you and no one else.
